prof. dr. fan xiaoli received her phd in computational physics at physics department, the chinese university of hong kong, in 2005. she then worked respectively as research assistant, postdoctoral fellow, in the chinese university of hong kong and surface science center, university of western ontario. she has been an associated professor and then a full professor in northwestern polytechnical university (china). as vice secretary general and a member of computational materials science branch of chinese materials research society, her main research interest is materials surface and interface related physics and chemistry. till now, she has been in charge of more than 10 projects including 2 natural science funds, and was awarded the program for new century excellent talents by the ministry of education. she has got more than 50 papers published on physical review letters, journal of american chemical society, nano leters, journal of materials chemistry a, nanoscale research letters, journal of physical chemistry c and so on.
