on oct. 15th, during the 80thanniversary of npu, qmes held a meeting with university of groningen and curtin university in meeting room a310, school of aeronautics under full support of the office of global engagement, npu.
director of graduate school of science and engineering prof. marc van der maarel, and business development manager mr. wanli zheng, faculty of science and engineering of university of groningen, associate deputy vice-chancellor and research excellence prof. garry allison of curtin university, vice dean chen jun of qmes, deputy director yang ye of teaching affairs office and miss. wang ruixuan of general affairs office of qmes joined the meeting.
commissioned by dean kong jie, chen jun expressed warm welcome to delegations of university of groningen and curtin university on behalf of qmes. he made an introduction to qmes from the aspects of establishment background, education features, teaching operation, student affairs and development prospect. chen jun also elaborated on potential cooperation opportunities and prospective of sino-foreign cooperative education.
prof. marc van der maarel of university of groningen expressed his gratitude for npu’s arrangement. he introduced schools and discipline features of university of groningen in detail, and life and learning of chinese students in the university in particular with a hope that more npu students could exchange and study in university of groningen.
prof. garry allison introduced curtin university from its establishing origins, education mode, cooperative programmes. based on advantaged scientific research, he shared successful experience of improving international rankings with other participants.
during free discussion, all of the participants exchanged ideas on the advantage, joint teaching and internationalized development of sino-foreign cooperative education.
