since the arrival of gabriel cavalli, executive associate dean of qmes and faith nightingale, director of teaching affairs, in mid-march, teachers from qmul have returned to campus for their first offline classes since 2020. fan xiaoli, dean of qmes, dai fuping, secretary of party committee and vice dean of qmes, cheng yin, deputy secretary of party committee and vice dean of qmes and all faculty and staff of qmes extended their warm welcome towards teachers from qmul.

over the past three years, online course has been a big challenge for both teachers and students. qmes always adheres to the core goal of taking students as the center and cultivating international talents, and makes effort to improve teaching environment, outfit real-time communication equipment, and organize teachers to regularly discuss how to improve online teaching methods and ensure the quality and effect of online teaching. teachers from qmul have also overcome difficulties such as time difference and platform switching between different teaching software. they have done their best to provide students with high-quality online classes. over the past three years, teachers from qmul have experienced many difficulties such as covid-19, visa problems, flight cancellations, and flight changes. they returned to qmes after three years. they felt so happy. they said, “although we experienced at least 2 changes of planes and spent nearly 30 hours, it was worth when we saw the smiling faces of students!”

students felt so surprised and excited about the return of teachers from qmul. the long-awaited offline classes gradually resumed. students’ class enthusiasm was greatly improved. students came to teacher’s office after class to chat with teachers. they also actively invited teachers from qmul to participate in various school activities. teachers also expressed their willingness towards these activities. they experienced students’ class, tasted wine with teachers and students of wine culture and art appreciation course. they were also invited by the art and education center of npu to watch peking opera, experienced traditional chinese culture. in addition, they also watched the wonderful welcoming party of the class of 2022 as special guests and felt the vitality and enthusiasm of students.

in order to improve the artistic literacy of faculty and staff and enrich teachers’ after-school life, qmes also specially organized fluid painting experience activities. faith nightingale and maria romero marveled at the innovative format of the activity. the faculty and staff of qmes felt the charm of art during the activity.

“now the southern scenery is most sweet, but i meet you again in parting spring.” there have been two batches of outstanding graduates of qmes studying in well-known universities at home and abroad. the results of talent training of qmes are remarkable. it is believed that the return of teachers from qmul will bring students more vivid offline classes. students’ language expression, thinking mode, learning habits will also be comprehensively improved. they will shine in various fields in the near future!
