at 5:00 pm on thursday, may 28, 2020, qmes held an online mid-term teaching meeting for the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. the meeting was presided over by fan xiaoli, vice dean of qmes, and 23 people including andy bushby, executive vice dean of qmes,teachers and teaching office staff in the spring semester attended the meeting.
first of all, fan xiaoli, on behalf of qmes, welcomed all the teachers, and made a report and exchanged views on the multi-platform and multi-mode online teaching activities, online supervision scheme, technical support, curriculum arrangement and teaching achievements during the period of delayed school affected by covid-19 epidemic, and summarized the teaching situation of qmes.
maria romero, course director ofmaterials science, shared the “gains and losses” of her online teaching experience in terms of teaching effect evaluation, multiple online teaching modes, students’ feedback in class, and after-class evaluation etc.yan qilong, teacher ofstructure characterization, gave a brief introduction to the teaching arrangement of this semester, and shared his experience of compilingstructure characterization.
zhang ying, teacher ofadvanced mathematics, pointed out that, after finishing the course, additional offline q & a classes based on students’ need could help students to sort out the knowledge learned during the semester and prepare for the final examination.gabriel cavalli, teacher ofmaterials chemistry, said that the experiment method would be changed according to the online teaching situation, and the appropriate experiment projects carried out at home would be selected to ensure the teaching quality of the course.
fan xiaoli then introduced to the teachers the general policy of the npu on students’ return and teaching arrangement.
this meeting was a stage summary of online courses during the covid-19 epidemic in this semester.by sharing and exchanging teaching problems and experiences, the teachers have further clarified the improvement direction of online teaching, which will promote the reform of online and offline teaching methods in the future.
