gu junwei, the dean of the school of chemistry and chemical engineering of npu stands as a national leading talent and recipient of the shaanxi province fund for distinguished young scholars. renowned for his outstanding contributions, he has been elected as a fellow of the royal society of chemistry, the royal aeronautical society, and the institute of materials, minerals and mining in the united kingdom. he has been consistently recognized as a “global highly cited scientist” by clarivate analytics and as a “chinese highly cited scholar” by elsevier. his research primarily focuses on the design, preparation, and processing of functional polymer composites and fiber-reinforced advanced resin-based composites. he has led over 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects, including key projects funded by the national natural science foundation of china. he published over 160 academic papers, authored or co-authored 4 english monographs, and contributed to 4 textbooks. additionally, he held 34 national invention patents. he was also honoured with a second-class national teaching achievement award and a second-class shaanxi provincial teaching achievement award.
